With a solemn sigh I mourn my ambition
and sit shiva for my sense of self.
I try but fail to conjure their memory,
the cries of widows echoing in my ear.




Benjamin C. Krause is the author of Classifieds, erbacce-press 2010. He was recently selected as Featured Artist at Counterexample Poetics, and his poem “Scene from a Pharmacy” was selected for The Best of Foliate Oak 2009-10 edition. His writing has appeared in dozens of journals.

    All those things at once is an interesting and original approach to a moment. I like this poem circling around a single mind at a single time.
