CRITIC • by Ron. Lavalette

He likes to say
he likes her like
he likes blueberries
on his cornflakes and
he’s always quick
to rave about the blueberries

Sharon says Oh that’s so Ron and so New England, not wanting to come right out and say one loves so-and-so but one loves blueberries and one loves them especially when one links them with so-and-so.

I love it and Casey my daughter likes it too. We are in Chattanoog TN having a great timsse for the week. I love blueberries and and they fit for the moment. Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? I usually am at the mom’s house with 30 or so family members an 15 pies. I booked a flight in Sept. to be with Casey and its been great. Boating on the Tennessee River, visiting the aquarium with seahorses, jellyfish, and river otters that performed in remarkable ways. We slid in cardboard in the evening light(no snow), went to a wild life refuge with 3000 or more sand hill cranes, and drank early cocktails and hotwings and afternoon beer. I even had afternoon naps on the porch twice. I am preparing for chemo-therapy next Wednesday at Dartmouth. A new identity to be discovered for the Emily you knew and everyone knew. Oct. 23rd was the event to hear of Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Scary in every sense of the word now that I know.I’ll keep you posted as it develops. I am saving your poems for in hospital stays that will be lengthy. Thanks for the blueberry poem. Really great. love Emily
