EVEN SO (A FIB) • by Daniel Ausema

art
spins
dark lies
numbers twist
science undermined
still I create, count, sequence facts

Science advances in truth. So does art. Fibs in either undermine – agreed. This poem is excellently constructed. Though it’s short it has beautiful rhythm.

    Thanks, Roberta!

For anyone curious about the Fib form (since it doesn’t seem too widely known), there’s a Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fib_(poetry)

Good link, Daniel! I think The DaVinci Code popularised the Fib. Thsi however impressed me most in that the content and form are complimentary and that is a mark of a great poem.

Thanks, all! Oonah, I hadn’t realized it was in Da Vinci Code (not having read or seen it)–do you mean the poetic form itself or just the Fibonacci sequence?

    Thanks again!

:) Thank you! I had never heard of the form–and I like it! And I particularly like what you’ve done with it.
