It’s February, folks. That means l.u.r.v.e. At least a moment’s poetry each day might melt your heart. We have passion amid the February frost in this month’s selection of poems; the bitter with the sweet. Love sometimes takes the form of compassion for our fellow man. Sometimes, as KC Ball points out, we just need a hug. Errol Nimbly — well there’s no accounting for taste… and at the heart of it all is, “A Kiss Goodnight”. But fear not — you’re unlikely to get romantic cramp from this selection and we have a good smattering of poems that will suit those of you whose interests are seasonal.
Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to comment and vote on the poems.
Nicholas is preparing to interview our most read poets for November and December, Vanessa Gebbie and Daniel Ausema. You’ll be able to read those interviews in March.
In the meantime, keep reading and sending us your poems. If you want themes to work on, St Patrick’s Day, the vernal equinox and Easter are fast approaching. But also in July this year, is the 40th anniversary of the first manned Moon landing. If anybody wants to aim that high, feel free.
Now it’s hands off from me. Enjoy the poetry.
