At last I see you stand before me,
then this tongue falls useless,
my mouth a slack bag of feckless words.
But beneath my skin I feel
the slippery eel of electric surge,
the national grid implodes,
bright flux sparks, your touch
is perfect thermogenesis.
Surprised that my singed skin
borders still exist, I grip my passport
and enter this bold new territory.

A dynamic piece, full of sexual energy and anticipation of more explosive times ahead..
Bold new territory? Yes!
It literally sizzles!

Wonderful imagery. I love: ‘feckless words’
‘bright flux sparks’ ‘perfect thermogenesis’
All this as anchor for an extended metaphor that
really works. Just a delightful, high-energy poem.

Gosh – thanks very much for those words, folks. I didn’t know if the images would work for that skin-on-skin feeling, but am grateful to know that you can feel the energy. Many thanks for your responses. xx
