Happy 2012 to all! Every Day Poets is delighted to welcome you to another year of great poetry.
We welcome these authors whose work is appearing in Every Day Poets for the first time: Rachel Aydt, Eric Dovigi, Marie Therese Gass, Pippa Little, Ali McHenry, Gwen Tarbet, therunningchelsea, Ian Williams, Caryl A. Worden, R.K. Wyrick, and Brian Zimmer. We hope you enjoy their poetry as much as we did.
And for those of you who wonder about our submission guidelines, Managing Editor Oonah V. Joslin riffs on just how to make sure your poem doesn’t get the boot in this month’s Editor’s View. Are we serious? Only you can decide. But if you decide to submit, keep in mind that we are now looking ahead to late spring topics for our slush pile reading pleasure.
For 2012, we will continue to offer Every Day Inspirations every Monday. We also have two author’s showcases in the works and are kicking around ideas for another contest. We are also awaiting the release of the second print anthology, now in progress. We’ll keep you posted.
Don’t forget to check out our new sister site, Every Day Novels, this month as serialization of K.C. Ball’s novel, Lifting Up Veronica, takes off. Some of you may recognize that name – K.C. has contributed poetry to Every Day Poets and has had several flash pieces published at Every Day Fiction. We’re pleased that she is the first Every Day Novels author.
Finally, we happily announce that slush reader Jeff Jeppesen has joined the editorial team at EDP. Kudos to Jeff!
Thank you for choosing to make Every Day Poets a part of your new year. All the best to you and yours.
- Kathleen Cassen Mickelson, Assistant Managing Editor
