Cold fire upon the trees
And woodsmoke heavy on the wind
The best of seasons by degrees
Has finally finished settling in
It warns of frozen days to come
But I will let those worries wait
For now there’s cider on my tongue
And vibrant woods to contemplate

Oh, very lovely, Steve. Beautiful picture of Autumn – my favorite time, too. It sounds a little Robert-Frostish to me.

Living in Houston, I can easily imagine the season you have painted with your words. Nice.

Thanks, all.
Robin: Yeah, I guess it is a little Robert Frost-ish, although Frost would have made something far more deep and artful out of the same material. I’m a Frost fan.
