THE WAVES ON LAKE VÃTTERN • by CG Olsen

These little waves which lap up soft and wet

against the supple sand, which mildly let

their fingers slip into the waiting hands

of footsteps left upon Lake Vättern’s strands;

these gentle waves which rend the satin air

are like those kisses we no longer share.
