It got a lot hotter
We coddled our water
The water we coddled ran out.
The passers perspired
The gasses expired
The daisies died due to the drought.
The fires intruded
The rioters looted
While wars over water were fought.
Bullets through gullets
And warheads through foreheads
Unhesitant presidents shot.
It got a lot hotter
The sun sought to slaughter
And slaughter the water it did.
It toiled the soil
It boiled the oil
Such woe as the snow angels hid.
